11th Ocean Day 2018

Ocean Day started in 2005 as a way to bring advocates to the state capitol to discuss important ocean issues with state legislators. For 12 years this massive single-day event has worked to educate legislators on the most up-to-date issues and events concerning our oceans and how they keep California beautiful.

Advocates discuss threats of offshore oil drilling to California's coasts and wildlife. In addition, our team will address current issues such as Marine Protected Areas, overfishing, desalination, plastic pollution, coastal access, and offshore wind power.

Ocean Day conveys a unified message from the ocean and coastal community that we hope will inspire decision-makers to work toward effective solutions aimed at protecting and restoring California’s iconic ocean and coastline.
